Our Mission

In the name of God and Jesus Christ, a congregation of the United Church of Christ, we declare this Church to be open and welcoming to all seekers to know and worship God. As a congregation of faith, we take seriously the biblical call to love God and our neighbors as we love ourselves. We celebrate the variety of our cultures, race, ages and different abilities.

No matter who you are, or where you are in life’s journey, you are welcome here.

Services at 9:30am on Sundays

Our Pastor, Rev. Henry Pascual

The Rev. Henry Pascual has served the First Congregational Church of Dalton, UCC as its pastor and teacher since 2017. Originally from the Philippines, Henry is the first foreign born pastor of the church. Raised in the United Church of Christ in the Philippines, Henry sensed God’s call to ordained ministry after graduating from high school. His preparations for ordained ministry, however, took him to the Baptist denomination where he obtained a Master of Divinity from their seminary. During this time, he married the former Lourdes Marcelo (Des for short), also a seminary student, who, in her spare time, gave birth to their first daughter two months before graduation.

After serving as pastor to Baptist churches in the Philippines, Henry came to the United States to serve among Filipino churches. As his theology and understanding of the Christian ministry evolved, Henry left the Baptist church and sought authorized ministry in the United Church of Christ where he found an extravagant welcome and a safe place to practice ministry. He feels excited to be a part of a community that “welcomes all, loves all, and seeks justice for all” (UCC Mission Statement). Henry is attracted to First Congregational by its inviting character, strong sense of community, and passion to serve God in the world through missions.

Henry and Des have three daughters and a son who lives with them. They love to walk around the neighborhood and the beautiful lakes and trails of the Berkshires.
